On Wednesday, May 6, 2009, Governor Gregoire signed Substitute Senate Bill 5531 into law which amended Washington States Consumer Protection law, RCW 19.86 et seq. to raise the “treble damages” provision cap to $25,000.00. The law will take effect on July 26, 2009 and apply to all causes that accrue on or after that date.
